Tia: Keyboards, Songwriter, and Vocalist
TIA'S BIOGRAPHY
Sultry songwriter, keyboardist and vocalist Tia, developed her unique blend of R&B and traditional vocal pop with hints of contemporary folk due in large part to her unique upbringing. Born in Fort Lee, Virginia, this southern bell quietly grew up in Killeen, Texas. Her father sparked her love for music at the tender age of 4. Listening to her Father and Mother sing throughout her home, music became an instant love for her.
During her teenage years, Tia played the clarinet and piano which helped her to develop a great sense of harmonic structure. Later Tia put her musical talents on the back burner, and worked towards earning a degree in Computer Networking and Systems Administration at Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX.
After graduation, Tia decided to be closer to immediate family and moved to Houston, TX. Tia was inspired to tap back into her writing due to her love for music. She became a keyboardist and vocalist for the R&B group “Impromptu” and later (2002) joined another R&B band “Something Unique” as a keyboardist and background vocalist. Tia has worked for the television court show Texas Justice and Judge Alex on FOX26 and also has been trained in Television Production. Tia is continuing her education in television production, is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Letourneau University with a BA in Business Management and is currently, seeking her Masters in Education.
Words by Tia " Most people judge a person by their personality. They assume that a persons personality = their intelligence or that intelligence is based on a serious nature. I think that is funny! I have found some seriously dumb people who didn't understand the basics of simple things. Yet, because they were serious most of the time, somehow they fooled people into thinking they were intelligent! They are usually found out in due time"
