CHIKAH'S BIOGRAPHY
Chikah: Drummer, Keyboardist and Songwriter
Chikah, a native of Texas, started playing percussion/drums at the age of 9. Growing up in Houston in Kashmere Gardens, Chikah was surrounded by a diverse range of music. Her musical influences are artists such as Sheila E, Musiq Soulchild, Maze, Isley Brothers, India Arie, Raheem Davaughn, Tyress, Jennifer Hudson and Gerald Levert. By the time Chikah was a teenager she had perfected her drumming skills and started playing for her church "Word of Love".
Later Chikah played with other bands such as God's Own, Da Joint, and now Asida Soul. Chikah can take the groove from a fast upbeat tempo to a slow R & B beat that will leave you craving for more. This cool, calm and collected drummer has a special talent that will keep Asida Soul grooving and the people moving.
